Yesterday we reported on the announcement of the comic The Superior Spider-Man which will be replacing The Amazing Spider-Man after it ends this December with issue #700. What we didn’t know at the time was that the Spider-Man we will be seeing soon will no longer be Peter Parker.
According to Bleeding Cool, Dan Slott appeared at a panel this morning at NYCC giving a bit more insight on the new web-slinger. He confirms that while the new comic will replace The Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker is not Spider-Man in the Superior Spider-Man.
What does this mean for Peter Parker? Will he meet his demise in The Amazing Spider-Man #700? Will his story continue somewhere else such as, Avenging Spider-Man or another unannounced Spider-Man comic? Only time will tell.
For now, we know that Superior Spider-Man is not Peter Parker. Who it is – We don’t know that either.
