A new firmware update for the PlayStation 3 has been revealed, v. 4.30, that will bring a few changes, including the way you look at your trophies.

PlayStation has just revealed its plans for a PS3 system software update (firmware update) that will be live on Tuesday, October 23, 2012. This will bring the firmware from v 4.25 to v 4.30. Two major changes will come with this update including one that PlayStation fans have been asking for, for some months now. Here’s what you can expect with the upcoming update:

Trophies

  • You will now be able to view your PlayStation Vita Trophies on your PlayStation 3.
  • The location of the trophies will move from under the “Games” section on your XMB to the “PlayStation Network” section.
  • You will be able to view your trophy level and progress while viewing your trophies

No further details have been provided on this update other than the news that PlayStation will be ending its Folding@Home support on the PlayStation 3 this November.

When we get the full list of changes, we’ll be sure to bring it to you.
