Film: ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’ Teaser Announcement

J.J. Abrams ‘ Star Trek: Into Darkness will be beaming into theaters on May 17, 2013 and Paramount has been dropping bits and pieces to wet our appetite for interstellar action. First, we got a story synopsis (below trailer), next we got a poster (as seen in the image to the left of synopsis) and today, we get our first look at the action in a brand new teaser. Check it out below!

 

  Official Synopsis: “In Summer 2013, pioneering director J.J. Abrams will deliver an explosive action thriller that takes Star Trek Into Darkness.

When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable force of terror from within their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis.

With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew.

You may also want to check out the Japanese teaser which includes an additional few seconds of footage and hints that Trekkies might catch on to.

There will be a longer trailer that will no doubt show us more starting December 14th ahead of The Hobbit in theaters. December 17th, a new “exclusive” trailer will also debut. We’ll be sure to bring you all of that when we get it.
