Bioshock Infinite has been a highly anticipated title for many gamers worldwide. Originally one of my most anticipated titles of 2012, it was reported earlier this year that the game was being delayed until February 2013. While that was tough news, it was understandable and time passed by rather quickly. Here we are in December and the game would be releasing in about two months! Well, that is if it wasn’t delayed again.
Despite recently getting the official box-art, new trailers, and even early media impressions of the game- Irrational Games’ Ken Levine has brought us the unfortunate news that Bioshock Infinite is receiving another delay. In a blog post on Irrational Games’ website, Mr. Levine commented,
Work on the game is now down to final polish and bugfixing. In order to give the team a few more weeks of this polish, the release date of BioShock Infinite is March 26th.
We know that this is going to ruffle some feathers. But we’re willing to take the heat to make sure that BioShock Infinite is 100% the game our fans deserve.
So, unless we receive another update, Bioshock Infinite is now slated for a March 26, 2013 release. It’s not a major delay like previously moving the game from the Fall of 2012 to February 2013 was. However, this will no doubt upset some fans eagerly anticipating the game.
That said, I am appreciative that some companies will take the time to make a game as complete and as polished as possible before releasing it to the consumer market. What about you? Sound off in the comments below: How do you feel about this second delay of Bioshock Infinite?
