Naughty Dog, the developers of the highly acclaimed Uncharted series – among other games (like I had to tell you), has been hard at work on their latest title: The Last of Us. The post apocalyptic thriller has been a highly anticipated title since it was revealed back on Spike TV’s Video Game Awards 2011. Well, Spike TV just celebrated their 10th anniversary with the 2012 VGA’s and The Last of Us once again made an appearance. This time, we got a new story trailer introducing a few new characters and a lot more scenery in addition to the game’s release date. That’s right, we finally know when we can get our hands on The Last of Us and it’s May 7, 2013.
Well, I’m sure you want to check out that story trailer too, so check it out below:
20 years after a pandemic has radically changed known civilization, infected humans run wild and survivors are killing each other for food, weapons – whatever they can get their hands on. Joel, a violent survivor, is hired to smuggle a 14 year-old girl, Ellie, out of an oppressive military quarantine zone, but what starts as a small job soon transforms into a brutal journey across the U.S. – Naughty Dog

If you’re wondering if I made a mistake there, well, not exactly. You read it right, there will be a multiplayer side to the game. Unfortunately, Naughty Dog is still keeping tight lips on what the now confirmed multiplayer mode will include.
Oh! No, I didn’t forget… Here’s the official cover art for the game:
