Celebrate 25 Years This August With ‘Madden NFL 25′

EA Sports has officially announced the next installment of the number one [American] football gaming franchise, Madden NFL, will be launching on August 27, 2013. This year is a special year for the franchise though as it is the 25th anniversary. With that in mind, this year’s game will be named Madden NFL 25. The cover athlete(s) is still yet to be determined.

According to EA Sports, the cover athlete options will be taken from a bracket of 32 all-time NFL all-stars in addition to 32 modern NFL superstars. As has been done in the past, fans will be able to vote for their favorites and the winners of each bracket will face off in a final round. Voting will start on Monday, March 11 on MaddenVote.

Madden NFL 25 is developed in Orlando, Florida by EA Tiburon and will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on August 27, 2013 for $59.99. Surprisingly enough, there is no word on a Wii U, Vita, or other versions of the game. Stay tuned to see if that changes.
