Nintendo is calling 2013 the year of Luigi. It’s the 30th anniversary of the Nintendo character and he’s getting a bit of love this year. In today’s Nintendo Direct, a few titles and even DLC featuring Mario’s green capped brother were revealed and detailed. In addition, a few new games starring both Mario brothers were unveiled. Here are some highlights from the Nintendo Direct which featured the plumber brothers:
As Nintendo announced a while back, Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon launches March 24 on the 3DS. The game will feature multiplayer modes in addition to the already revealed Hunter Mode, including Rush Mode and Polterpup.
A brand new adventure for the 3DS was revealed with Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. Dream Team is a RPG where players are inside the dreams of Luigi and will be coming this Summer.
The next new title that was revealed was Mario Golf: World Tour for the Nintendo 3DS and also launches this summer.
The Nintendo Direct also talked about a massive DLC (paid) update for New Super Mario Bros. U, which they are calling, New Super Luigi U. In this DLC, Luigi takes over on alternate versions of the game’s 80+ stages. The DLC will provide players the opportunity to freely change between the New Super Luigi U and New Super Mario Bros. U stages.
