After several rumors and leaks, Activision has finally confirmed and announced the “next generation” of Call of Duty, Call of Duty: Ghosts. Developed by Infinity Ward, this new installment in the insanely popular franchise, according to Activision, “delivers a riveting all-new gameplay experience built on an entirely new story, setting and cast of characters, all powered by a new, next generation Call of Duty engine that redefines the series for the next generation.”

While this teaser doesn’t show anything from the game, once again Activision and Microsoft have partnered to bring us a first look at the title during the Next Generation Xbox Reveal on May 21 at 10AM PDT. This can be viewed on Xbox.com, Xbox LIVE, or SPIKE TV.
For now, starting today, anyone who wants to lay their claim to the game can do so by pre-ordering their copy of Call of Duty: Ghosts at various retail outlets worldwide.
Call of Duty: Ghosts will release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on November 5, 2013. Considering that the game will have a full reveal at Microsoft’s next Xbox event, one can conclude that the game will also be available for next generation platforms sometime this year.
